Adult Services - The Beehive - Therapy and Activity Centre

Diverse Abilities is Dorset’s disability charity supporting children and adults with profound physical and learning disabilities across the county since 1955.

The Beehive is our day activity and therapy centre with a lively and sociable setting for adults with disabilities. We are looking for a proactive Lead Support to work within the Beehive to provide a wide range of support and opportunities to maintain and promote the independence and quality of life for the people we support.


More about the role…

What will you be doing?

  • Undertake the assessment of the people we support needs in accordance with policies and procedure with the involvement of other professionals and families as appropriate. The circle of care.

  • Act as a role model for staff. Promote the organizations values and aims through your daily practice.

  • When required provide a great induction for new staff, enabling them to complete their Certificate in Care before their probation is signed off.

  • Ensure primary and mental health of people supported is maintained.

  • Maintain people we support records and contribute to other organisation documents as required

What are we looking for?

  • Full UK Manual Driving license is essential for the role

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is Essential (or must be willing to work towards)

  • Confident in numeracy, Literacy and IT proficient

  • Good management skills

  • Has a person-centred approach

  • Self- Motivated
