Fund a Nurse

Nursing care is a vital element of Diverse Abilities’ work, keeping the vulnerable children and adults we support safe.

Fund a Nurse gives you the chance to fund vital nursing care for children and adults with profound disabilities. Without our dedicated and specialist nurses we could not provide the level of support and care needed by the children and adults supported by Diverse Abilities, who live with profound physical and learning disabilities and complex medical needs. Your donation will help fund nurses working in our children’s respite home, specialist school and adult therapy centre. We are the only charity in Dorset offering this level of nursing care for people with disabilities, and receive no funding for our nursing care. The team provides vital, and genuinely life-saving, care.

Make a one-off donation

A meaningful day

Your support will help on good days, bad days and everything else in between.

For you, your chosen date could be a birthday, anniversary or a business milestone. For the families we support, it will be knowing that their child is safely looked after in our respite home, or it will be the care provided in the classroom to keep a very poorly child safe through a medical emergency. Without this safety net, they wouldn’t be able to go to school and have as close to a normal childhood as possible.

Your donation could also provide the nursing back up to enable someone to safely go on a boat trip, making treasured memories, or can visit people we support when they’re in hospital providing the vital link to get them home as soon as possible.

Who can pay for a day?

Anybody! You can fund a nurse as a business, through your own fundraising, or maybe seeking donations instead of birthday or anniversary presents.

The Pay for a Day gift amount is £160 for one nurse

You can donate as a one-off gift or you can fundraise towards it through your workplace, community group, birthday gifts, or by doing a challenge.

Choosing Your Day

You can choose the day, maybe select a date that is meaningful to you, and make it meaningful for local children and adults with disabilities too.

We would love to show our gratitude by:

  • A special thank you from our team

  • A shout-out on social media on your day

  • A invitation to the charity
