Adult Services
Our adult services continue our mission to provide extraordinary lives for extraordinary people.
We want the people we support to live as independently as possible, to enjoy their lives, and make progress on things that are important to them.
Adults supported by Diverse Abilities take part in a range of activities during the day and in the evening, enhancing their skills, and meeting their physical and mental health wellbeing needs.
Communication is vital and assistive technology, PEC tools, and facial expressions are ways in which staff are trained to help reduce frustrations and allow an individual to communicate their views and choices.
Our Services
The Beehive
Our adults’ therapy and activity day centre, providing a variety of activities, opportunities, and facilities. We have a state-of-the-art accessible kitchen, physiotherapy rooms, and a Sensorium, creating 360-degree immersive experiences.
Supported Living
We provide 24-hour care, seven days a week, 365 days a year. We will develop a life plan for each person, and the service is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and follows Domiciliary Care Standards.
Feel Good Fridays
Come along for a fun session at The Treehouse – you don’t need to be registered with Diverse Abilities to attend – we’ve got soft play, mini golf, a sensory room, and more.
SEND Club Nights
Join us for a vibrant evening of music, dancing, and connection! Our events take place on a bi-monthly basis at Popworld Bournemouth, with a different unique theme each time.
Referrals
Due to the demand for Supported Living and Day Opportunities, we can only look at facilitating packages once a funded package has been agreed or through the housing register.

Our vision is to transform the therapy offered to adults with profound and life-long disabilities in Dorset. We are embarking on a major project to build a new state-of-the-art therapy pool. To build this, we need to raise £1 million.
Most of the adults supported by the charity are unable to use public swimming pools due to the low water temperature and poor accessibility, and there are no warm pool facilities in Dorset dedicated to providing therapy for adults with lifelong disabilities.
Without a therapy pool we are unable to meet the increasingly complex needs of adults with profound disabilities.
