Application Form
We are regulated by CQC and Ofsted and we are committed to safeguarding the adults and children we support, therefore we require you to complete our application form to successfully apply for a vacancy.
Our application form will ask questions to establish your suitability for our charity. You can use this as a tool to highlight your qualifications and experience.
Top Tip: Don’t forget to utilise the Personal Statement section to shine and show why you would like to apply for this role and the reasons you feel you would be a good fit for the service and position you are applying for. This is your chance to stand out from the crowd and really WOW the hiring manager.

Telephone Interview
We conduct telephone interview for some of our positions.
Don’t worry, you don’t need to prepare anything for this it will just ensure you meet the criteria for the role, and it gives you an opportunity to ask any questions you have.
Interview
This is your time to show why you would be perfect for this role! This is a chance for you to show your personality and skills for the role. We know that interviews can be nerve-racking and we aim to put you at ease. It is a formal interview in a relaxed environment. This is your time to show why you would be perfect for this role and your opportunity to show your personality and skills relating to the position you have applied for.
Top Tip: Make sure you have done some research on the charity and fully read and understood the job description. We will ask you situation-based questions including ‘can you give me an example of when you have…’. Try to give detailed answers and don’t be afraid to ask if you are unsure what is being asked of you.

Example Interview Questions
During your interview with Diverse Abilities you will be asked skills based questions, behaviour based questions and scenarios. Please see some examples of potential questions you may be asked during your interview;
Why have you applied for a role with Diverse Abilities?
Tell me about your previous roles, why do you feel you are a good fit?
What would you do if you were concerned about a colleague’s behaviour in the workplace?
Are you aware of any guidelines or legislation that may contribute to our daily roles and responsibilities?
You are on shift and working alone, you have been asked to cook a meal you have never cooked before what would you do?
Offer of Employment
If you have been successful in your interview and we would like to offer you a position with us, we will call you with the good news!
During that call we can discuss a potential start date and any next steps.
You will then receive 2 emails from us with details about your onboarding and some forms you will need to complete. You will also be required to book an appointment to bring in your Right to Work documentation if this was not seen at interview.

Right to Work
It is a legal requirement for Diverse Abilities to check your right to work in the UK.
You must give the right documents showing you have the right to work in the UK, which will be checked if you are offered a position with us. If you are unable to provide documentation to prove your right to work in the UK we will be unable to proceed with an offer of employment.
We will ask you to provide your right to work documentation at your interview and again if you are offered a role at Diverse Abilities.

If you’re a British or Irish citizen
If you’re a British or Irish citizen, you can prove your right to work in the UK with either of the following:
a British passport
an Irish passport or passport card
Your passport or passport card can be current or expired.
If you do not have a passport or passport card, you can prove your right to work with one of the following:
a UK birth or adoption certificate
an Irish birth or adoption certificate
a certificate of registration or naturalisation as a British citizen
You must also give your employer an official letter or document from a previous employer or a government agency.
For example, you could use a letter from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), or the Social Security Agency in Northern Ireland. The letter must show your name and National Insurance number.

If you’re not a British or Irish citizen, you can prove your right to work with:
a share code - you can apply for a share code online
You can choose which option you use. Your employer cannot reject your application because you gave them an eligible immigration document instead of a share code, for example.
