Walk, Jog or run the Jurassic Coast for Diverse Abilities

Keen walkers, runners and explorers are invited to join Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity, to take on the Jurassic Coast Challenge, the UK’s number one series of treks and trail runs over the weekend of May 16 and 17.

The Jurassic Coast Challenge features a number of distances for participants of all experience levels. The charity is inviting participants to choose their own challenge out of a choice of nine to do at their own pace with support that will enable you to go further, whilst enjoying the great outdoors with distances from 10km to 100km.

Francesca Potton, Community Fundraiser at Diverse Abilities, commented: “We are really excited to be part of this challenge. It’s great because you can pick the distance that suits you, whether you are taking on the challenge by yourself or as part of a group. This is a great way to see the beauty of the Jurassic Coast, while also making a huge difference to a charity right on your doorstep.”

Entries include free food and drink at regular rest stops, plus support including medics, marshals, and massage, alongside a big finish-line celebration. Raise over £25 and you’ll receive a free Diverse Abilities technical t-shirt or vest.

The money raised will support children and adults with disabilities across Dorset at places such as The Treehouse – the charity’s hub offering activities throughout the year, Langside School – a specialist school in Poole for children with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities and The Beehive – a therapy and activity day centre for adults in Poole.
