New SEN Nature Holiday Club starts this Easter

Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s Disability Charity, is launching a new outdoor SEN Holiday Club, offering more opportunities for children with special educational needs and their families to enjoy outdoor learning and inclusive play during school holidays.

Held at The Nature Nook, the SEN Holiday Club provides a welcoming, outdoor environment where children can explore, discover, and build confidence through a variety of guided and self-led activities. Sessions run every Tuesday during Dorset school holidays, with two daily time slots:

  • 9am–11am for children under 7 and their families

  • 12pm–2pm for children over 7 and their families

Families do not need to be registered with other Diverse Abilities services, making the sessions accessible to a wider community.

Led by an experienced Outdoor Learning Lead, the sessions include a curated mix of engaging activities such as:

  • Nature exploration

  • Sensory play

  • Tool use and bushcraft

  • Fire lighting

  • Games and guided tasks

The Nature Nook also features unique free‑play zones including a mud kitchen and a magical wishing tree.

Alex Bradford, Outdoor Learning Lead at Diverse Abilities commented: “We’ve had so much interest in offering specific SEN sessions in our Nature Nook, and we’re really looking forward to welcoming children and their families to learn and play in a safe outdoor environment during the school holidays.”

Each session costs £10 per child, with adults attending free of charge. Parking is also provided free at The Treehouse. A parent or carer will need to stay for the session.

Families booking six or more sessions can use code SENTERM at checkout to receive one session free.
