Supported Living Driver

Adult Services - Supporting Living, Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Supported Living team. We are currently seeking a resilient, flexible, and reliable individual to become a driver and to enable the people we support to be active participants in the community. 

Hours: Contracts available from 16 to 40 hours per week, depending on the role and the successful candidate's availability. Hours will be discussed at interview.

Interview Dates: Interviews are provisionally scheduled to take place during the weeks commencing 3rd and 10th of August


More about the role…

This role involves transporting the people we support with their staff member, in a responsible and competent manner to places in the local area.  This could include appointments, activities and day opportunities.  Ensure the safety of passengers, other road users, members of the public and yourself at all times.

What you will be doing:

  • You will be driving organisation and/or person we support’s vehicles

  • Carry out driver’s daily and weekly vehicle checks, and to carry out basic maintenance.

  • Report any vehicle defects, faults, incidents and accidents

  • Maintain and help to promote the organisation’s image.

  • Contribute to and participate in a team-based approach.

What we are looking for:

  • A clean full driving licence that you have held for at least 2 years.

  • Must be over 21 (for insurance company insurance).

  • Honest, sense of responsibility and confidentiality.

  • Sensitivity to the people we support needs.

  • Person centred approaches to planning and management
