Find out more about a career in adult social care
Diverse Abilities’ Supported Living Service is hosting an online information session inviting everyone to come and find out more about careers in adult social care.
Taking place at 5pm on Monday, April 14, potential applicants are invited to an online Zoom session to meet members of the team and find out more about the roles available.
Mandy Cunningham, one of the Supported Living Registered Managers, commented: “When you join the Supported Living team you can expect lots of training, options to progress, and the chance to get out and about in the community. The adults we support enjoy going swimming, going bowling, trips to the cinema, lunch at the pub, going to concerts and even holidays abroad. You’ll essentially be a friend, someone who provides care but also laughter and good times.”
Established in 2003, the Supported Living Services provides care in the home for adults with physical and learning disabilities across Poole and Bournemouth every day. The charity provides flexible and individual services, enabling people to live in their own home with as much independence as possible. Each person supported has a dedicated team who knows them well and are aware of exactly how they wish to live.
There are a few different vacancies available, including:
Personal Support Assistants – Full Time, Part Time and Zero Hour positions available
Waking Night Support Assistant
Emma, who has been a support worker at Diverse Abilities for more than 20 years and is currently a Team Leader, added: “When I first joined Diverse Abilities, I hadn’t worked in care before, but I got stuck in and within six months I got the Team Leader role, and the rest is history. To see these people have fun, live their lives to the full, and progress every day is rewarding. I hope to be here as long as I possibly can!”
