Meet Michelle, Supported Living Deputy Manager
Meet Michelle Turner, Supported Living Deputy Manager:
Before coming to Diverse Abilities, I worked in various roles within care settings including residential settings, working with young adults who have Autism and Asperger’s, and I have also worked in a pre-school as a SENDCO.
My role is very varied, I oversee services to make sure the people we support have the best care and support. I line manage team leaders, some zero hour staff, and some of our on-call team. I oversee recruitment for Supported Living and assist with shift cover, along with payroll and inputting of rotas.
My biggest challenge has been learning a new role as deputy manager, and being a mum to my 7-year-old daughter Caitlin!
Looking to the future, in work I want to build on my knowledge continue to support the amazing people we support! At home I want to give Caitlin the best start that I can, and I would love to own my own home!
For anyone new starting at Diverse Abilities, my advice would be to listen to the people we support, gain as much knowledge and support from staff that know the people we support really well, but don’t be afraid to have your own ideas. If you don’t know then please ask!
