The Return of Treecycling
Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity has launched its annual Christmas tree recycling service sponsored by Waste Management Facilities and supported by Adventure Wonderland and BCP Council.
Bookings are now being taken to have your Christmas tree collected on Friday 6 January until Monday 9 January 2023 from Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch, East Dorset and Ringwood.
Claire Cooper, fundraising officer, commented: “We’re thrilled to see the return of our Treecycling service. It’s one of our most important fundraisers of the year and allows us to raise vital money and truly makes a huge difference in our efforts to continue supporting more than 1,600 children and adults with physical and learning disabilities across the county.”
Collections can be booked online for a suggested £10 donation, and the charity’s team of volunteers will take to the Dorset roads over the collection weekend in January to ensure the trees are disposed of sustainably and recycled into wood chippings.
Lisa Delahunty, managing director at Waste Management Facilities Limited, commented: “We’re thrilled to be working with Diverse Abilities again this year. We will be helping with the logistics and volunteering, to collect Christmas trees after the festive period and raise money for the children and adults supported by the charity.”
Diverse Abilities is also recruiting volunteers to help the Treecycling team to collect and recycle Christmas trees. Families and businesses with access to vans, pickup trucks, or buses should contact Claire on 01202 718266 to discuss how to get involved and help make a difference for the charity.
