Success at National Open Garden Scheme Event
Diverse Abilities, Dorset's disability charity, welcomed visitors to The Treehouse in Hurn as part of the National Garden Scheme, raising more than £750 to support local children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Members of the public were invited to explore the charity's unique sensory garden and Nature Nook, which provide engaging outdoor spaces for children and young people who access services at The Treehouse.
More than 65 people attended the event, enjoying the opportunity to discover the gardens while learning more about the work Diverse Abilities does to support children and families across Dorset.
Funds raised from the day will help children with SEND access specialist sessions and services at The Treehouse, enabling them to build confidence, develop skills and enjoy new experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
Francesca Potton, Community Fundraiser at Diverse Abilities, commented: "It was wonderful to welcome visitors to The Treehouse and share our gardens with the wider community. The event was a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of the support we provide for children and young people with SEND, while also raising vital funds to help us continue delivering our services. We'd like to thank everyone who came along and supported us."
