Return of Country Roots this October

Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s Disability charity, is holding it’s second country event of the year this October.

Following the successful first Country Roots event in June, the charity will be holding it’s second country event at The Treehouse in Hurn on Friday 10 October from 6pm until 11pm.

Outside there will be games and food trucks, and inside will be the bar, live music and line dancing.

Mariana Swain, events executive at Diverse Abilities commented: “We had a great time at our first Country Roots event in June, and lots of positive feedback from those who attended. We can’t wait to host our second event in October with fantastic live music, line dancing and a great selection of food and drink.”

There is also an opportunity to decorate your own cowboy hat ready for the event. The Cowboy Hat Workshop will take place on Tuesday 23 September between 6pm and 8.30pm. There will be craft leaders on hand to guide you through the process of customising your hat with various haberdashery, trinkets, and accessories as well as the option to brand letters or embroider a design.

Both events are at The Treehouse - Merritown Lane, Christchurch, BH23 6DT. The Treehouse opened last year as a specialist venue for people with disabilities, and now hosts various sessions for children with disabilities from across the local area.
