Serving up Pizza with Love for frontline care workers

Pizza with Love, the mobile wood fired pizza company, and Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity, has said thank you to its staff by providing more than 400 pizzas.

Diverse Abilities’ staff have continued to work on the frontline providing vital care to children and adults with disabilities throughout the pandemic across remote activities online and offline, respite care, domiciliary care, schooling, family support, and advice and guidance.

Mark Powell, CEO of Diverse Abilities, commented: “These last 10 months have been a real test for everyone, and the way our staff have adapted and taken it in their stride has been truly inspirational – a testament to the high standards of care provided daily. We wanted to show our gratitude in more ways than one for all their hard work, so as well as the pizzas we sent goody bags to everyone at Christmas as an extra treat.

“As we continue to face this pandemic head on I know we can rely on our teams on the ground to continue doing their absolute best for the people we support, and on  behalf of myself and the senior  management team we continue to be so thankful for all their hard work.”

The pizzas were provided at a discount to the organisation, who paid for them on behalf of all staff members throughout November and January, and choices included vegetarian, Hawaiian, pepperoni, and margherita pizzas. Gluten free and vegan choices were also available.

Rachael Cutler, the chef at Pizza with Love, added: “We’ve been really lucky to work with Diverse Abilities in many ways over the past few years and are so thankful to them for letting us use the front of their school every week to provide our pop-up pizza takeaway as without that it would have been a really difficult year given the amount of cancelled events and weddings we would usually be working at.

“The teams have clearly all worked so hard, and it’s great to be able to provide them with a little bit of excitement at the end of the week as they’re picking up their pizzas!”
