New opportunities for part time work in Weymouth

Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity, is expanding its team based at the Weymouth Outdoor Education Centre (WOEC) with employment contracts available in the school holidays.

The charity’s Coping with CHAOS and Project My Time services operate play and activity sessions from WOEC in the school holidays for children with special education needs and their siblings. Those successful in the role will be required to ensure positive outcomes and the continual safety, health, and wellbeing of the children and young people supported.

Zero-hour contracts are available to provide flexibility around other employments, or around exam schedules, and those aged 16 and above are encouraged to apply for the roles.

Clare Rochford, Children’s Team manager, commented: “If there’s one thing we can guarantee with these roles available, it’s that you are guaranteed to have a laugh whilst supporting those in the community who need it most. No day is ever the same, and we’re looking for dynamic people who want to help out and aren’t afraid to get stuck in.

“It’s the perfect role to accompany your studies, or to work flexibly around other part time opportunities, and is also a valuable opportunity to develop leadership skills and confidence.”

The role will be managed by the Short Breaks Co-ordinator, with opportunities to develop into full or part time positions elsewhere in the charity if desired. Training is paid for and provided on the job and remotely with the opportunity to shadow sessions through Easter and half term before the busy summer holidays.

Visit diverseabilities.org.uk/jobs/weymouth for more information about the role and how to apply before midnight Sunday February 28.
