Five new keyworkers at Diverse Abilities

Diverse Abilities has appointed five new keyworkers to its Supported Living Service following an increased demand for assistance.

The charity’s Supported Living Service enables adults with physical and learning disabilities to live their lives to the full with 24/7 care. It provides flexible and individual services, enabling the people supported to live in their own home with as much independence as possible.

Brady, a personal support assistant, commented: “I joined Diverse Abilities as I needed a career change due to the instability of the industry I was working in. I have found my role incredibly rewarding so far, by simply aiding someone’s everyday life knowing that you are the reason they have the ability to get through the day doing whatever activities they are capable of provides an unrivalled level of satisfaction.

“The induction process was adapted due to COVID-19 and created a different challenge for everyone, and it made me appreciate just how hard everyone works to make things work as smoothly as possible. There is a real sense of community that I am thrilled to now be a part of.”

Lee Brady, HR manager, added: “We are pleased to welcome these new members to our team, especially given the new circumstances we are working under. Our teams have adapted amazingly to the changes we have made to continue delivering necessary care, and we are looking forward to more joining our team in the future.”
The charity is also recruiting for new team leaders within its Supported Living Service. Duties include the line management of a staff team, mentoring, social activities and practical support such as preparing and cooking nutritious meals, cleaning, shopping and general home running.
