Dorset Neon Run open for entries

Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity, is hosting its fourth Dorset Neon Run on Saturday 25 April.

The event takes place at Poole Park and participants are invited to run, jog, walk or even dance their way round the 5-kilometre course.

Entries are open now, with an early bird discounted offer available at £10 per person, with a sponsorship target of £45. One-off donations can also be made in lieu of raising funds.

Entertainment and refreshments will be available on the night, and previous years have included DJs and Clubbercise warm-up activities.

Participants will be provided with a Dorset Neon Run t-shirt and are encouraged to participate in bright colours to help light up the night.

Jon Wheatley, events co-ordinator at Diverse Abilities, said: “The Neon Run is a really fun event and as it isn’t time chipped, allows participants to run, jog, walk or dance at their own pace. We’ll have plenty of entertainment on the night to keep the atmosphere pumping and are looking forward to what is sure to be another fantastic night of fundraising.”

The Dorset Neon Run is open to anyone over the age of 12 and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. On the night, registration is from 7pm, with the warm up at 9.10pm and the race starting at 9.30pm.

Funds raised will go to Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity, supporting adults and children with disabilities across the county and providing a multitude of services including a specialist school, adults therapy centre, supported living bungalows, and advice service.
