Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s Disability Charity is calling on local residents, families, thrill‑seekers, and adventure‑lovers to join Team Diverse Abilities and help raise vital funds to support children and adults with physical and learning disabilities. With an exciting line‑up of charity challenges, there is something for everyone, whether you’re looking for your next big adventure or a fun family activity that makes a real difference.

By getting involved, supporters help provide essential care, therapy, and life‑enhancing support, ensuring support for people with physical and learning disabilities so that they can live their lives to the full.

Supporters who take on a challenge will receive: ‍ ‍

  • A full fundraising pack, including a branded t‑shirt or running vest

  • One‑to‑one support from the charity’s friendly fundraising team

  • The incredible feeling of being part of something bigger

Challenges include:

Skydiving: Dates Throughout the Year

This isn’t just a challenge, it’s a chance to make a real difference.

The day itself is full of energy, family members cheering you on, people facing their fears, and that feeling of doing something brave for a cause that genuinely changes lives.

Jurassic Coast Challenge: 16–17 May‍ ‍

Walkers, runners, and explorers are invited to tackle the iconic Jurassic Coast Challenge. With nine route options ranging from 10km to 100km, participants of all experience levels can take in breathtaking views while moving at their own pace.

Wild Swim in Swanage: Saturday 18 July ‍ ‍

Swimmers at the ready! Take on this challenge and complete either a 4km or 2km sea swim in the gorgeous location of Swanage Bay. Hosted by The Wild Swimming Co., expect excellent food and drinks, live entertainment to get you dancing (and warmed back up!), and lots of opportunities to get in the sea.

Run Bournemouth: 10–11 October, Bournemouth‍ ‍

This much‑loved running festival returns this October, giving participants the chance to choose from a variety of distances—from a 5km night run to a 10km beachfront route or the scenic Bournemouth Half Marathon. All charity places are fully funded, making it an ideal opportunity to take on a personal challenge while supporting a vital local cause.

From walking a mile a day, to organising a bake sale, to dreaming up something entirely unique, supporters can design a challenge that suits their lifestyle with the fundraising team on hand to help you succeed with fundraising.
