Holiday Club

At our Holiday Clubs, children aged 8 to 14 will enjoy a range of nature-based activities such as fire lighting, green wood crafts, and den building.

Our days are free-flowing with structured activities thoughtfully woven in - reflecting the outdoor learning approach of child-led development.

How to access

Holiday club sessions are for children and young people aged 8 to 14. There is no need to be registered with Diverse Abilities other services in order to attend. This group is open to all, including those without additional needs. Everyone must be accompanied by a parent or carer.

Please note, this is a drop off session so parents and carers will not be able to remain on site during the day.

While the Nature Nook is led by a team with strong experience in supporting children with special educational needs, this particular holiday club is designed for children who can take part safely and independently in a group setting, without the need for additional staffing or 1:1 support.

What to expect

Each day’s activities are shaped by the interests and choices of children from previous sessions, and our trained leader is there to support and help bring their ideas to life.

Alongside games, sports, and creative crafts, children will learn tool skills with a strong focus on safety, proper technique, and respect for the tools they’re using. They’ll take part in both individual and group projects. Popular tool-based creations include wooden animals, toy cars, and wands - but we also encourage children to follow their own ideas, with our supportive team always on hand to help.

Ultimately, our holiday clubs are a chance for children to make new friends, have fun, and maybe even discover a new hobby or skill - all in a safe and inclusive outdoor environment.

We deeply value inclusion and expanding access is part of our long-term vision. As we establish this new service we’re actively exploring ways to offer SEN-specific sessions in the future, so that more children can enjoy what we provide.

If your child has additional needs, we welcome you to get in touch with us to discuss whether this setting would be a good fit. For this club, children must be able to fully participate without adult assistance throughout the session. Click here to contact the team.

Sessions take place every Monday and Thursday in (Dorset) school holidays from 8.30am until 3pm. An extended day with a 4pm pick up is available for an additional cost.

These sessions are £35 per child and a late pick up is an additional £5*.
