PMLD Club Volunteer
When: One 3 hour session every school holiday week and one 3 hour weekend session, once every other month
Where: Usually at The Treehouse, Merritown Lane, Christchurch, BH23 6DT
Age: Volunteers must be 16+ (and have finished their GCSE year at school)
The sessions aim to give families who have a child with PMLD, a safe space to meet like minded parents while their children take part in tailored activities such as sensory stories, messy play, music massages and organised events by outside professionals.
We are looking for volunteers to help with the following:
Support children with complex health or mobility needs
Set up sensory activities, therapeutic play, and safe resources
Engage warmly with children in ways suited to their communication needs
Interact with parents/carers and offer friendly support
Assist with maintaining a calm environment and tidy up after sessions
