Recruitment Day for Children’s Team at Diverse Abilities

The Children’s Team at Diverse Abilities is hosting a recruitment day on Monday, May 23 at Lily’s Place, Manor Avenue, Poole.

The event, taking place between 1pm and 7pm gives potential applicants the chance to meet the team, find out more about the roles available, and meet some of the children supported by the charity.

Amiee Barnett, the Children’s Team manager, said: “We are recruiting for a few roles at Lily’s Place, our short stay respite home for children. You’ll get to work with some of the fantastic children and young people we support, and we promise every day will be different.”

Lily’s Place is Diverse Abilities’ short break children’s home, which is fully equipped to provide overnight respite care for up to four children and young people with complex physical and/or learning difficulties. In addition to those coming for overnight visits, the charity is also able to provide day care sessions at weekends and during school holidays, as well as visits after school in term time.

The team are recruiting for the following roles:

·         Lead Support - Overseeing the daily running of Lily’s Place and support families on Shapes Domiciliary Service.

·         Transition Support Worker - To ensure positive outcomes and the continual safety, health and wellbeing of the young people aged 18 - 25 who have profound and multiple learning disabilities, as well as complex medical needs.

·         Child Support Worker - Working across our children’s team either in Lily’s Place short stay children’s home or Lawford Lodge transition respite unit providing the best care.

·         Night Support Worker - Provide night-time support and monitoring for the children and young people staying overnight.

The open day is a chance for anyone interested in working with children and young people with disabilities to find out more about the roles available, ask questions, and meet the rest of the team.

Visit diverseabilities.org.uk/careers for more information about the event and further details on the roles currently available.
