Poole Special School uses Nourish Software

Langside School, a special school in Poole, are the first school to use software from Nourish.

Langside School is Diverse Abilities’ visionary school for pupils aged two to 19 with profound physical and learning disabilities, and complex medical needs. The team provide a full sensory and therapeutic approach to meeting the needs of pupils and help them achieve their full potential, with nursing support in every class.

Nourish Care is a Care Management Platform used to manage care plans and promote person centred care which is used in a wide variety of health and care settings including Care Homes, Day Centres, and Domiciliary Care. When Langside School were looking for a tool to record all their information, both educational and medical, they investigated Nourish to see how it could work for them.

The school now uses Nourish to record school attendance, medication, messages from parents, appointment notes from consultants, doctors and the school’s team of Nurses, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. It also allows for better communication between parents and teachers at the school.

Nicki Priddle, Deputy Headteacher at Langside School commented: “Nourish is a great tool for our school to manage both the care and learning plans of our children. All the children who attend Langside School have high care needs, often need to change position throughout the day and be given medication whilst at school. Nourish allows us to record this information, as well as recording what they have learnt, what they enjoyed and what they found more difficult. It’s been fantastic to keep all this information together in one place.”

Lee Gilbert, Chief Marketing Officer at Nourish said: “At Nourish we are proud to work with inspiring, innovative organisations like Langside School. Our technology is designed to support care providers and their communities to live their life to the fullest. Langside is the first school we have partnered with, but their person-centred commitment to compassion and communication reflects the guiding ethos of the social care sector in which we traditionally operate. Langside have already displayed some creative applications of our functionality and we can’t wait to see what we achieve in the future as we continue to grow together!”
