Crafting Fun

‍Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s Disability Charity, is offering a range of craft workshops this summer and Autumn. ‍ ‍

There are plenty of choice, so you can try something different either with a group of friends or come along, meet new people and hopefully gain a new hobby. ‍ ‍

Sip & Paint‍ ‍

Tuesday 18th August – 6pm-8pm ‍ ‍

The Four Horsemen, 77-79 Commercial Road, Bournemouth, BH2 5RT‍ ‍

Whether you are a beginner or a pro, you will have a relaxing fun evening of painting - and sipping!‍ ‍

We’ll be joined by Eleanor Indigo Art who is hosting this creative workshop. ‍ ‍

You have free reign over what you would like to paint but don’t worry! Inspiration and guidance are provided by Eleanor, and feel free to bring your own inspiration from home too. Once your painting is complete you can take it home to cherish forever.‍ ‍

Block Printing ‍ ‍

Thursday 10th September – 6pm-8pm ‍ ‍

The Treehouse, Merritown Lane, Christchurch, BH23 6DT‍ ‍

Led by Sunny Bunny Crafts, this workshop will teach you all about the basics of printing with Indian Printing Blocks.‍ ‍

There’s a selection of different patterns, shapes, animals, icons, letters, etc. to choose from so we’ll start off practising on scrap fabric and you’ll make a tea towel to take home with you.‍ ‍

Dried Flower Garlands‍ ‍

Tuesday 29th September – 6pm-8pm ‍ ‍

Brothers Farm Flowers, Stapehill, Wimborne, BH21 7ND‍ ‍

Come and join Becca in the Flower Barn workshop to learn how to create a beautiful hand-tied dried straw flower garland.‍ ‍

Using flowers grown on site at Brothers Farm, Becca will guide you through the process of making your very own autumnal garland.‍ ‍

You’ll be guided through the techniques involved, as well as sharing advice on care and conditions to help preserve dried blooms for as long as possible. We’ll also be looking at how to manipulate dried flowers to create a unique arrangement for your home.‍ ‍

Sea Glass Art‍ ‍

Thursday 15th October – 6pm-8pm‍ ‍

The Treehouse, Merritown Lane, Christchurch, BH23 6DT ‍ ‍

Create 3D artworks out of seaglass with Sunny Bunny Crafts.‍ ‍

This workshop will include the basics of composition and encourage you to embrace your creative spirit.‍ ‍

Your picture will be created to fit in a 15×15cm box frame, and there will be plenty of templates to spark your ideas.‍ ‍

LUSH Bath Bombs‍ ‍

Tuesday 3rd September 6pm-8pm‍ ‍

LUSH Green Hub, Waterloo Road, Poole, BH17 0AE‍ ‍

It’s time to treat yourself. Come and join us at the LUSH Green Hub for an evening making bath bombs and knot wraps. ‍ ‍

In this workshop you’ll be making bath bombs, under the expert guidance of the team from LUSH Bournemouth, who will also take us on a tour of the Hub.‍ ‍

We’ll also be making our own knot wraps that you can either use yourself, or will make it the perfect way to turn your creative endeavours into a Christmas present for someone close to you. ‍‍ ‍

Cat Abbott, Head of Marketing and Events at Diverse Abilities commented: “We can’t wait to share our new craft clubs with you. It’s a lovely way to spend an evening trying something different or perfecting a skill you’ve tried before. You will also be raising money for a local charity supporting children and adults with disabilities.”
