Where your money goes

It costs us around £23,000 a day to run the charity, and more than 80p in every £1 donated goes straight back into our services. Here’s a few examples of what your money can buy:

  • £10 can fund a day’s arts, crafts, or baking supplies for our adults day hub. Each day’s activity is chosen by the adults we support at The Beehive, and each £10 will enable 25 adults to enjoy the session.

  • £26 could pay for an hour’s help in a family’s own home. Our highly qualified child support worker will care for a child with complex disabilities and play with them in the secure, familiar surroundings of hteir own home.

  • £40 could pay for an hour of hydrotherapy. This is a vital part of therapy for many of the people we support as it aids development, prevents deterioration and reduces their pain.

  • £92 can fund a day’s medical supplies at Langside School. Our specialist nursing team is based on site at Langside School, meaning children can spend more time with their peers rather than being taken out of school and driven to appointments throughout the day. The team administers over 60 medications each day to children with complex needs.

  • £280 runs our weekly parent wellbeing and information sessions. These are vital as many parents feel they need help and support when it comes to their child’s particular challenges, for example, sleep difficulties, fussy eating, or speech and language delay. The information sessions provide a varied and relevant programme of professionals who will speak on and answer questions regarding their particular areas of expertise. Additionally, parents find it very hard to wind down from the stresses and challenges they face. We aim to provide opportunities for parents to relax and learn techniques to manage their own mental wellbeing, yoga, and hobbies, we hope those who attend will enjyo the time and space to relax and unwind.
