Lord and Lady Fellowes sponsor The Splash Appeal reception

A reception, sponsored by The Lord and Lady Fellowes of West Stafford, was held at The House of Commons to help raise awareness and funds for The Splash Appeal, run by Diverse Abilities.

Dorset’s disability charity aims to raise more than £1 million to fund a hydrotherapy pool at The Beehive, the charity’s adult activity and therapy centre.

Speeches were made by Lord and Lady Fellowes, introducing the event and regarding patronage of the appeal, Lee Ward, father of a child who would benefit from the pool, and Mark Powell, CEO of Diverse Abilities.

Lord Fellowes of West Stafford commented: “I am very pleased to be involved in this campaign, I am well aware of the importance of hydrotherapy after it aided my recovery following a severe operation. It has made an extraordinary difference to my own life.”

Lady Emma Fellowes of West Stafford, patron of The Splash Appeal called for support: “Please donate to The Splash Appeal, your donation is for a specific cause, a pool.”

She shared her comments on hydrotherapy and how it had significantly helped her father: “After suffering from two strokes my father attended hydrotherapy sessions in Hampshire, during his time in the water he must have felt ‘normal’ again. The biggest effect however, was how different he appeared after the sessions.”

Saffery Champness, Forelle Estates, and Liz Lean PR sponsored the afternoon tea reception.
