Don’t forget to Treecycle this Christmas

Diverse Abilities, Dorset’ disability charity, is operating its Christmas Treecycling scheme, sponsored by Keyfort, Maidmans Moving and Storage, and Waste Management Facilities, from Saturday 9 until Monday January 11, 2021.

The fundraising initiative is in its fifth year and for a suggested £10 donation, the charity’s team of volunteers will collect your tree and dispose of it responsibly across BH3 to BH18, and BH21, BH22, BH23 1 - 3, and BH31.

Jo Swinton, office manager at Maidmans Moving and Storage, commented: “For the fourth year running, we at Maidmans Moving & Storage will be assisting the Christmas tree recycling scheme in Bournemouth, Poole and the surrounding areas. We provide both drivers and lorries to collect the trees and whilst we are thrilled to assist a fantastic local charity, our drivers welcome a change to their usual day to day removals job!”

Christmas tree collections are completely contactless for the bookers – trees are instructed to be left in an accessible place, not obstructing walkways, for the teams of volunteers to collect over the course of the weekend.

Roy Clayton, managing director at Keyfort, added: “Keyfort is honoured to be working with Diverse Abilities once again this year, contributing to the Treecycling campaign is a great way to help the charity and make its processes easier. We have worked with the charity in many ways over the years, through fundraising and volunteering to developing this bespoke software and it really is rewarding for our staff to see their work making a difference in more ways than one.”

If you are a bubble with access to a van and are interested in volunteering for the collection rounds, email treecycling@diverseabilities.org.uk for more details.

Visit diverseabilities.org.uk/trees to register your collection before Monday January 4, 2021.
