Charity golf day raises more than £3,000 for disability charity

More than 60 golfers pitched in to raise a tee-rific £3,000 for a local charity that supports children and adults with profound physical and learning disabilities across Dorset.

The event, organised by Hoburne Group Support, took place at Bulbury Woods golf club, and raised thousands of pounds to go towards Hoburne’s charity of the year, Diverse Abilities.

Several companies supported the event including Hoburne Development, Dunore Utility Connections, DRP Limited, Glossbrook, Mazars, and Meyers Estate Agents.

The golf day saw 17 teams compete in the event, and as well as a fun day on the course, more money was raised with a raffle and auction at the end of the day.

Commenting on the event, Hoburne’s director, Rosie Kennar, said: “It was a great day and to raise over £3,000 for Diverse Abilities was a wonderful achievement. We would like to thank everyone who attended and for showing such generosity for this amazing charity that we are proud to support.”

“We would like to extend our thanks to Bulbury Woods golf club and its fantastic team; our event sponsors, Dunore Utility Connections and DRP Limited, plus those businesses who provided us auction prizes.

Claire Cooper, fundraising officer at Diverse Abilities, added: “What a fantastic day! We hope everyone had a great time, as we certainly enjoyed the chance to meet new faces alongside raising vital funds for the adults, children, and families we support. Hoburne has been an incredible partner to us, and we are so thankful for the ongoing support of everyone there.”
