Disability benefits
Do you need help to understand what benefits you are entitled to or with claiming a benefit?
Do you believe that a DWP decision about your claim is wrong and want to challenge that decision?
How we can help
All our advisors are experienced and empathetic when helping you to complete your benefit claim form. They will type up the form for you as you work through the form together, giving you ample time to discuss each question and answer. Once completed, the form will be posted or emailed to you.
If you don’t agree with the DWP decision on your claim, we can help you to do a mandatory reconsideration. We will go through the points that you believe are wrong and discuss how you can source further evidence to support your claim. We will then draft your mandatory reconsideration and submit it on your behalf.
If you’ve had an unsuccessful mandatory reconsideration, your next step is to appeal to an independent tribunal. We can draft and submit an appeal on your behalf, help you to gather further evidence, and provide representation at your tribunal.
So, don’t panic if you are getting near the month deadline for submitting a mandatory reconsideration or appeal, we can help you to ask for an extension to that deadline or to explain why you’ve missed it.
The Advice Team can provide support with Personal Independence Payments (PIP), Limited Capability for Work applications under Universal Credit, Attendance Allowance (AA), Carers Allowance (CA), Child Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Blue Badge applications, and Discretionary Housing Payment applications.
The service is also on hand to talk with clients and give advice when going through the assessment process, for both adults and children with a disability or health condition.
