Caterpillar Club

Caterpillar Club

A free, fun, and friendly group for children aged 0 to 4 years old with disabilities, their parents, and their siblings.

Join the Caterpillar Club and meet other parents that have children with complex disabilities while your child can enjoy a wide range of multi-sensory activities and meet other children. Sessions are tailored to those attending and are themed alongside the school’s curriculum; activities include music, art, massage, playing with sensory toys, and stories. Advice and guidance is also provided from specialist staff.

We host three families each week at Caterpillar Club to ensure everyone receives the support they need. Siblings are also welcome to the group.

Come along every Friday morning, 10.30am until 12pm at Langside School.

How does Caterpillar Club benefit the young children we support?

“The idea is for children to have fun, but also for parents to see how their children respond to a stimulating environment. Parents can learn about the equipment we use and the various educational techniques we employ to help children to develop their skills.”

“Parents who have attended have also appreciated the guidance we can offer about how to access support in the community.”

Nicki, the Langside teacher running Caterpillar Club.

“As well as going to Langside five days a week, Arabella attends Caterpillar Club, which gives parents with disabled children the chance to get together, as well as a place for the child to meet friends and play. Another benefit of the club is siblings can go along. Arabella’s twin brother regularly attends and he loves it as much as her.”

“It is also helpful to be able to speak to the trained teachers at Langside and meet with the multi-disciplinary team of physiotherapists, nurses and occupational and speech therapists for any advice or guidance.”
